Management Capacity Enhancement Training for Cambodian Managers (Management School Program 2) <February 2024 – March 2024>

Continuing on from last year, the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC) conducted a training program in Japan for a total of 13 participants, including business managers and executives studying at the “KEIEIJUKU” management school of the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Center (CJCC). The “KEIEIJUKU” is a comprehensive training course related to management such as personnel management, financial management, and management strategy. Last time the training was held in Osaka, but this time it was held in Tokyo. Since it had been a long time since PREX had held a training program in Tokyo due to the impact of Corona, we had some difficulty finding companies to cooperate with us, but we were able to successfully complete the preparations with the help of referrals. All of the companies were willing to cooperate, and the trainees were able to deepen their knowledge and gain new insights into what they had learned at the CJCC’s “KEIEIJUKU” through talks from the managers of the companies they visited, observations, and exchanges of opinions with employees. Through visits to seven companies, participants were able to learn about sustainable management, including management that solves social issues, branding, and employee satisfaction. All of the sites they visited were well received, and the participants were able to learn from each of them key points that can be applied to their actual business activities. The participants’ impressions of the training program were varied, with each participant citing different companies they had learned from and companies that left a lasting impression on them. HBLAB Japan also gave a lecture on points to consider when working with Japanese companies from the perspective of a foreign manager, which seemed to be helpful for trainees who would like to work with Japanese companies in the future. At the Japan Finance Corporation (JFC), the trainees learned practical tips on how to obtain loans and on the necessity of business plans and how to write one. We hope that all trainees will apply what they learned in this training to the development of their respective companies.
